Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you — the parent or guardian who opens the account — and Chipster Kids. Children do not agree to anything here; you do, on their behalf.

In force — pending professional review
This document applies to your use of Chipster Kidstoday and is the agreement between us. It was written specifically for this service against the UK Children's Code and UK GDPR rather than adapted from a template, and it is published in full so it can be checked. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified adviser, and a small number of details are still marked as outstanding below. We will tell you before any material change takes effect, and your legal rights as a consumer apply regardless of what this document says.
1.Who this agreement is with
This agreement is between you and Ankit Yadav, registered at Chawadi, Alwar, Rajasthan, India, which operates Chipster Kids at chipsterkids.com. “We” and “us” mean that organisation.
You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of every child whose profile you create. By opening an account you confirm both, and you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Children never enter into this agreement. They cannot register, cannot buy anything, and cannot change any setting that affects their safety or privacy. Every one of those decisions is yours.
2.What the service is
Chipster Kids is a specialist course in artificial intelligence for children. It teaches how AI works, where it fails, how it can be biased, and how to use it well — through short missions, each followed by a quiz. Missions unlock strictly in order: a child must pass one before the next opens, so nothing is skipped.
It is designed to go a long way. The course does not stay at an introductory level: each mission builds on the one before it, moving from the basics through safety, prompting, bias and fairness, and on to how these systems actually learn — with the later stages built around real project work aimed at genuine, complex problems rather than more multiple-choice questions.
Being honest about the bounds of that:
- It is a specialist course in one subject, not a general curriculum and not a replacement for school.
- It does not award a formal qualification, and completing it is not a recognised credential.
- Progress depends on the child doing the work — nothing here is a guaranteed outcome.
3.Your account and your children's profiles
- You are responsible for keeping your password private. Turning on two-factor authentication is the single most effective thing you can do here, and we recommend it.
- You create each child's profile and set the password that opens it. That password stops one sibling opening another's profile; it is not what keeps strangers out — your own account login does that.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including your children's use of it.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
- One account is for one family. Sharing your login outside your household is not permitted.
4.What is free
Mission 1 is free for every child, and no card details are needed to start it. There is no time limit on it and no countdown — it stays available.
Everything beyond Mission 1 requires a paid subscription. We do not operate an ongoing free tier, and we say so up front rather than letting a child reach a wall mid-way through something they thought was free.
5.Subscriptions and prices
| Plan | Price | Billed |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | £15.99 | per month |
| Annual | £159.99 | per year |
| Each extra child | £7.99 | per month, per extra child |
A subscription covers one child. Additional children are charged per child, per month, on top.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We will tell you before any price change, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid for. If you do not want to continue at a new price, cancel before it takes effect.
6.How payment works
Payments are processed by Paddle, acting as our merchant of record. This has a real consequence worth stating plainly: Paddle is the seller for the transaction, their name appears on your card statement, and they are responsible for collecting and remitting VAT.
Paddle's own terms apply to the payment itself, alongside these terms which govern your use of the service. We never see or store your card number.
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. If you pay in another currency, your bank's exchange rate and any fees are between you and them.
7.Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not cut a child off mid-period.
Your 14-day right to cancel. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you may cancel within 14 days of starting a subscription and receive a refund. If you asked us to start the service immediately — which is what happens when you subscribe and use it — we may deduct a proportionate amount for what you used before cancelling. To use this right, just tell us.
Beyond that period we do not generally refund part-months, but tell us if something has gone wrong: if the service was faulty or not as described, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply and nothing in these terms limits them.
If a payment fails we will retry it and let you know. We do not end access at the first failed attempt.
8.AI-generated lessons — what we do and don't promise
Lessons and quiz questions are generated for each session by an AI system rather than taken from a fixed library, and every piece passes an automated safety and age-appropriateness check before a child sees it. Content that fails is withheld.
What we promise:
- Nothing reaches a child without passing that check.
- No advertising, no purchases inside the child's experience, and no way for anyone to contact a child through the product.
- The mascot answers only from questions reviewed in advance. There is no open chat.
What we cannot promise:
- That every generated sentence is perfectly accurate. AI systems make mistakes, and a lesson should be treated as a teaching aid, not an authority.
- That the material suits every child of a given age. You know your child; use the parent controls and the mission previews.
Please tell us if you see something wrong or unsuitable — on a children's product that report matters more than almost anything else we could receive.
9.What we commit to for your child
- No real name, photograph, school or location of a child is ever shown publicly. The leaderboard shows a nickname and an avatar, and only if you switch it on.
- No child can message, or be messaged by, anyone through this product.
- No advertising is shown to children, and we do not sell their data.
- The privacy-protective setting is always the default, so a child is protected without you or them having to do anything.
- You can pause, limit, review, export or delete at any time.
10.Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Share your login outside your household, or resell access.
- Try to break, probe or overload the service, or get at data that is not yours.
- Scrape, copy or redistribute the lesson content.
- Create a child profile for someone you are not the parent or guardian of.
- Use the service to break the law.
11.Teachers and classrooms
Teacher accounts and live classes are not open yet. When they are, any teacher with live access to children will have to pass both a knowledge assessment and an enhanced DBS check — a criminal records check required in the UK for work with children. A knowledge test alone will never be enough, and we will not waive the DBS requirement for anyone.
12.Who owns what
We own the product, its design, its branding and the lesson material it produces. Your subscription is permission to use it for your own family, not a transfer of ownership.
Your child's learning record belongs to you and your child. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not sell it, and you can take it with you or delete it at any time.
Certificates and printed pages are yours to keep, print and share.
13.Suspension and closing accounts
You can close your account at any time from Settings. Closing it deletes your children's data permanently.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is being used fraudulently, or poses a risk to a child. Except where a child's safety or the law requires immediate action, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first. If we close your account without good reason, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.
14.Our responsibility, and its limits
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this agreement, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose. We are not liable for business losses; this is a consumer product.
We aim to keep the service available but cannot promise it will never be interrupted, and it depends on your own internet connection and device.
15.Changes to the service or these terms
The product will change as it develops — missions get added and features improve. We will not remove something you are paying for without telling you.
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will give you reasonable notice by email before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current period.
16.Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there. Nothing here removes the protection of the consumer law of the country you live in.
